The “Dry & Damp” Double-Zip Multi-Purpose Bag
I originally made one of these for a friend who needed something reliable for her swimming gear, and after using one myself for nearly a year, I can honestly say it’s become one of the most useful things I’ve made. It’s built with a “bag within a bag” design, using water-resistant canvas for both the outside and the lining, so it’s sturdy and very easy to wipe clean.
The main part of the bag is a good size, I find it’s just right for a wrung-out swimming costume, a travel-sized shampoo, and a loofah. Then, there’s a second zipped pocket on the front. I use this for my “dry” bits like mascara, deodorant, and face cream, so everything I need to freshen up is in one place. Because it’s a slim, flat-style bag, the more you put in the back, the snugger the front pocket gets, but I’ve always found there’s plenty of room for my essentials.
What makes this really useful is the strap; it has a secure popper, so you can easily loop it over a wheelchair, a buggy handle, or a locker rail. While it’s great for swimmers, it’s just as good for keeping damp gym clothes away from your clean things, or even as a reliable travel pouch for your toiletries.
